The state Libyan Investment and Development Holding Company’s (LIDCO) real estate subsidiary, the Libyan Development and Real Estate Investment Company (LIDRC) announced yesterday that it has completed the sales centre of the Lazurd Residential Complex.

LIDRC said that it is ready to receive perspective customers wishing to buy housing units within the Airport Road Tripoli Gate complex.

Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald yesterday, LIDCO General Manager, Tariq Al-Shaafi, said that his company’s sales staff at the centre specialise in real estate marketing who provide clarifications that give potential customers the opportunity to get acquainted with the different configurations of residential apartments within the Lazurd Residential Complex in all its details. This is then, if required, followed by an actual viewing of the residential units, enabling the customer to enjoy a unique and exclusive experience like no other in Libya.

Location, location, location
Al-Shaafi pointed out that the Lazurd Residential Complex project is distinguished by its location in the middle of several main roads in the capital, as it is located at one of the southern entrances on the Airport Road and within the Bab Tripoli 1 project.

The location of the project, he explained, gives it the advantage of easy access through Airport Road, Al-Falah road, the Second Ring Road, and the Third Ring Road, which is currently being implemented.

All the modern conveniences
Al-Shaafi stressed that the Lazurd project is keen to provide full luxury, comfort and after-sales services at a high level. The apartments are designed in a modern in which all services are available, such as air conditioning systems, as well as a mains cooking gas system, and high-speed internet via a fibre-optic network. They also have internet TV and drinkable water, in addition to the availability of an elevator with a card security system for each building.

As for the surroundings of the residential buildings, they will be furnished with private car parks, gardens for families, children’s outdoor games, and open green spaces.

High quality finish
Regarding the different available configurations of the apartments, Al-Shaafi said that the apartments are characterized by different details and areas starting from 165 square meters and up to 464 square meters of two floors. They enjoy creative architectural designs using the finest types of building materials and with very accurate implementation by skilled workers. He said work continues in dozens of residential buildings within the compound that it is divided into a group of residential blocks spread over a sprawling area.

The project was started under Qaddafi
It will be recalled that the Lazurd Residential Complex was started before the 2011 February revolution that overthrew the Qaddafi regime. The project is part of a huge, sprawling, multi-purpose project that has stood idle, like hundreds if not thousands of other projects since 2011.

The Lazurd Residential Complex makes up only a small part of the Tripoli Gate project and only a few of its apartment blocks are being completed (and at a very slow pace) by this government. They enjoy high visibility at the Airport Road traffic light and their completion is partly political to project the message of progress.

It is also fair to mention that current Tripoli prime minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, was once the head of LIDCO. This is seen by many as the reason why this project is being singled out for priority development.
