Third Ring Road project site handed over to Egyptian OHRN JV – U.S. firm Hill as project managers

At a Tripoli ceremony yesterday, Libyan authorities handed over the Third Ring Road project site to the Egyptian Orascom/ Hassan Allam / Rowad / NRD (O.H.R.N) JV company, with U.S. firm Hill International acting as project managers.

Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba led the ceremony with the Ministry of Housing and Construction, accompanied by the Minister of Housing and Construction Abu Baker Al-Ghawi, the director of the Housing and Infrastructure Board (HIB) Mahmoud Ajaj, the director of the Transportation Projects Implementation Agency Sami Al-Abash, the OHRN JV project team, the Hill International project advisory team, with the participation of the head of the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya (AmCham), Debbie Hirst.

At the beginning of the handover ceremony, the OHRN JV project team presented a video showing the implementation steps of the project, explaining what was accomplished, represented in the conclusion of the contract, the minutes of the necessary amendments, the opening of the documentary credit, the submission of letters of guarantee and the approval of the schedule, leading to the handing over of the site to start preparing and preparing for the launch of the works. .

Egyptian consortium chosen for their experience
In his speech, the Prime Minister, confirmed that the stage of clearing the project site has been completed, despite the difficulties faced its implementation. He said today another stage is being inaugurated, which is the handing over of the project site and preparing to start implementation. He stressed that the selection of the Egyptian consortium is due to its experience in implementing these works and its follow-up on several similar projects.

AmCham Libya happy at U.S. participation
In her speech, the head of AmCham Libya, Debbie Hirst, expressed her happiness at the participation of the American company Hill International in this important project and the return of life to projects in Libya.
