The Tripoli-based Libyan prime minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, officially opened Saturday what the owners say is the largest factory for pasta, couscous, and semolina in North Africa.

The factory is based at Whiba Holding’s huge Al-Dafnia Complex for Food Industries in Zliten.

Present at the official opening ceremony were also the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, the Minister of Economy and Trade, the Minister of Industry, the Minister of Transportation, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Industry, head of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, head of the National Economic Social Development Board, Mayor of Zliten Municipality, head of Zliten Chamber of Commerce and Industry, head of Misrata Chamber of Commerce and Industry, head of the Privatisation and Investment Board, head of the Municipal Guard, head of the Libyan Tunisian Joint Chamber, several businessmen and those interested in the field.
