Indonesia intends to move towards granting visas to Libyans from Tripoli: General Union of Chambers

Indonesia intends to enhance its economic cooperation opportunities with Libya and is willing to facilitate the granting of visas to Libyans.

The sentiment was expressed by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy, Didi Ahmed Rifai during his meeting with the President of the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Raied, on Monday.

The meeting, held at the General Union’s Tripoli headquarters, discussed mechanisms to enhance and multiply economic cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

The General Union reported that it was agreed to facilitate travel procedures for citizens and businessmen between the two countries, in addition to facilitating the return of Indonesian companies to work in Libya.

It also reported that the Chargé d’Affaires of the Indonesian Embassy confirmed to the President of the Union his country’s intention to move towards granting visas to Libyans from Tripoli.

The conferees also expressed their interest in doubling trade exchanges, and exchanging the export and import of various goods, the most important of which are dates and oils, as well as writing paper and tyres.

The General Union President Raied stressed the readiness of the General Union to support all efforts that increase the opportunities for Libya’s cooperation with its economic partners, including Indonesia.
