The Forum and Exhibition for Transport and Transit Trade in Africa (AFRO-TT) opened in Algiers

The Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rizik, accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Libyan Ministry of Economy and Trade, Mr. Nouri Gatati, opened the three-day Forum and Exhibition for Transport and Transit Trade in Africa (AFRO-TT) in Algiers yesterday.

Several officials from the economic sectors in the two countries, several directors of economic, commercial and industrial institutions, and in the presence of a group of business leaders attended the opening.

This economic exhibition comes with the participation of more than 200 Libyan company owners more than 100 Libyan, Algerian, Tunisian and African companies.

Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald, Yassin Bousrewiel, Chairman of the African Economic Forum and General Supervisor on the Libyan of the event, said that this important event for the two neighbouring countries, Libya and Algeria and with the participation of more than 30 speakers from Libya, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Niger, Switzerland, Italy, France, Belgium and the Ivory Coast.

He said the exhibition area exceeded 3,500 square meters, with a wide participation from the host country Algeria of multidisciplinary industrial and commercial companies.

Bousrewiel  said Libyan participation varies between companies manufacturing foodstuffs and others in the plastic and metal industries, various logistics services companies in terms of transport and storage, with a prominent presence of the Libyan Export Promotion Centre and the Misrata Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

He concluded that “AFRO-TT is a new interface and a new chapter for foreign trade towards African countries’’.
