Top law firm joins new British Libyan Business Association

Leading Libyan law company Tumi Law Firm has opted to join the new British Libyan Business Association as a partner member.

It is a major boost for the new association.  Jon Hancock, its chairman said that i.t was “incredibly proud to welcome them as a key partner helping us and UK business navigate the complexities of the Libyan legal system”.

The British Libyan Business Association was launched by British ambassador Caroline Hurndall on the 9 November at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli.  According to the association, its main aim is to assist and introduce new trade and investments to both countries that “benefit and enhance the common economic interests of its member companies”. It is the first UK economic organisation permanently based in Libya since 2013.

Mohamed Tumi, founder said: “This is a good indication of the business relations between Libya and the UK. We know that the Ministry of Economy and the Chamber of Commerce in Libya are easing the administrative burden on foreign investors and companies looking to set up in Libya, and Tumi Law Firm is ready to offer their full services and support. Our partnership with the BLBA exists to answer all queries with respect to the business environment in Libya.”
