Tripoli, 31 October 2021:
A Libyan delegation including representatives from the Ministry of Local Governance and Supreme Council of Local Administration visited a bio compost plant in Frankfurt, Germany last Friday to get insights into natural recycling and composting techniques.
The GIZ Libya Programme reports that this visit is part of a delegation trip aimed at fostering international exchange and future cooperation in the fields of sustainable cities and waste management.
The previous week, the delegation attended the ECOMONDO fair in Italy to learn more about technological and industrial innovation in the green and circular economy sector.
This activity is part of the European Union and BMZ-funded project “Decentralisation as a contribution to stabilisation in Libya / Support to Municipalities (SML)”. It is implemented by Germany’s GIZ in cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Local Government and the Supreme Council of Local Administration.
