The UNSMIL facilitated a two-day virtual meeting of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) 26-27 May started today and is being transmitted live.
UNSMIL reported yesterday that the meeting will discuss the proposed constitutional basis for parliamentary and presidential elections to be held on 24 December 2021, as prepared by the LPDF Legal Committee of the LPDF.
UNSMIL head, Jan Kubis will deliver the opening remarks in the first session of the meeting.
UNSMIL said that based on its commitment to upholding transparency principles, which characterized the LPDF process since its start, the two-day virtual meeting of the LPDF will be broadcast live on the UN Web TV and UNSMIL’s Facebook Page.
The Mission has granted the rights to Libyan and international TV channels to broadcast live the proceedings.
