Tunis, 29 November 2017:
Presidency Council head Faiez Serraj is to have talks with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Friday.
In a statement today, the White House said that President Trump looked forward “to discussing the bilateral ties between the United States and Libya and reaffirming the United States’ support for the Government of National Accord, and commitment to helping the Libyan people realize a more stable, unified, and prosperous future”.
It added that as well as UNMIL’s efforts to solve the Libyan crisis the two men would also discuss cooperation on fighting terrorism “and ways to expand bilateral engagement in several areas”.
Serraj was today in Abidjan, attending the African Union-European Union summit.
He last, briefly, met Trump at the American Islamic States Summit in Riyadh in May.
