Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) Chairman, Masoud Suleiman, revealed yesterday that he had held a meeting with Shell’s Vice President for Iraq, the UAE, and Libya to review the progress made in implementing the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed between the two, and to discuss ongoing technical activities in the areas and fields covered by these agreements.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed leveraging Shell’s global technical expertise to help formulate a comprehensive strategic master plan for developing Libya’s gas sector, in alignment with the NOC’s vision to enhance sector efficiency and maximize resource utilization.

Suleiman said he emphasized the importance of establishing a clear timeline for completing the assessment of the fields and areas covered by the MoUs, ensuring a transition to subsequent stages based on specific, well-defined implementation programs.

For its part, Suleiman reported, Shell reaffirmed its interest in resuming investment and operations in the Libyan market, expressing its eagerness to strengthen cooperation with the NOC and contribute to the implementation of key projects that support the sector's development.
