In accordance with the directives of the Tripoli-based Libyan Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, and as part of his government’s ‘‘Return of Life’’, a high-level delegation from the Tripoli government held a series of official meetings in the Sultanate of Oman, at the invitation of the Omani side.
The delegation met with Anwar Al Jabri, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion; Salim Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals; the CEO of the Oman Investment Authority; the CEO of Petroleum Development Oman; the CEO of Abraj Energy Services; the CEO of OQ Group; and the CEO of OQ Exploration and Production.
The meetings focused on strengthening economic and trade cooperation and expanding investment partnerships between the two countries. They also discussed opportunities for collaboration in the oil and gas sector, energy services, exploration and production, and infrastructure, emphasizing the exchange of technical expertise to support the energy sector and bolster economic development.
The meetings also addressed the state of global energy markets and the challenges related to supply and transportation chains, in addition to learning about the Omani experience in corporate governance and management.
The delegation of the Government of National Unity included: Minister of Oil and Gas, Khalifa Abdul-Sadiq, Minister of Economy and Trade, Suhail Bushiha, Head of the Executive Team for PM’s Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Investment Authority, Ali Mahmoud, and Director General of the Economic and Social Development Fund, Yassin Al-Abyad.
