US$ 71 billion investments proposed in Libyan American Partnership Washington DC business meeting

(GNU).

The Libyan American Business Day was held in Washington DC yesterday with the participation of the largest-ever high-level delegation from the Tripoli based Libyan government and more than 40 major U.S. companies.

The Libyan delegation, which has been in DC from 3 to 12 September, had already held several high-level meetings with US counterparts.

The U.S. companies included the oil and gas, renewable energy, health, mining, electricity, telecommunications, transportation, and infrastructure sectors.

During the meetings, the Libyan government reported, economic cooperation and the promotion of investment opportunities between the public and private sectors in the two countries were reviewed estimated at US$ 71 billion.

The meeting was attended by the US President’s Advisor and Middle East Envoy Massad Boulos, representatives of several US ministries, in addition to the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Libya.
