NOC Chairman discusses increased cooperation with SLB

‎The Chairman of Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, discussed yesterday the existing cooperation strategies between the NOC, its companies and the SLB Libya Branch (formerly Schlumberger), and the ambitious plans to enhance them.

The discussions took place during a technical meeting between the NOC Chairman and the SLB Libya Branch CEO and SLB Director of Projects Department at the NOC’s Tripoli headquarters.

‎Re-engineering closed wells
The two sides also discussed expanding the circle of exchange of experiences in the fields of re-engineering closed wells for production and ‎‎field development within the framework of the integrated solutions strategy and the introduction of modern technologies.‎

‎The meeting also reviewed the joint projects between the two parties, the contribution of SLB to increasing the productive capacity of the sector, and studying integrated solutions to achieve effective results, in terms of production and raising its rates within effective management of the reservoir.‎

Areas of cooperation with the NOC’s Petroleum Research Centre, supporting them with the necessary expertise and extensive experience in the field of reservoir studies and research, and expanding the company’s activity in Libya, was also discussed.‎

‎The NOC Chairman stressed the importance of the presence of SLB within the Department of Oil Projects in the southern Libyan region, especially at the Ubari site (south Libya), due to the company’s expertise and ability in training Libyan cadres on various field work skills, especially submersible pumps. He also stressed the need to transfer and localise knowledge and experience in various fields of oil studies and research.‎

‎He also stressed the importance of training national cadres and social responsibility in the Wahat, the Oil Crescent and the southwest regions.‎
