Economy Minister Hwej reviews his ministry’s implementation of its 2023 plan and issues several directives

‎The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Trade for Public Affairs revealed that credits opened for the import of livestock during the first four months of this year amounted to US$ 77 million. This is equivalent to more than two-thirds of the total supplies of livestock in 2021, he added.

He explained that the import movement is proceeding normally this year, and that the quantities for which credits have been opened are sufficient to meet the needs of the local market and enhance the food safety stock in the country. ‎

The revelation came during an expanded meeting held yesterday by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce at its Tripoli headquarters to follow up on the economic conditions, to review commercial activity and consumer price indices and the readiness of the local market to meet the needs of citizens with the approach of Eid Al-Adha. ‎ ‎

‎The Ministry said this meeting comes on the instructions of the Minister of Economy and Trade. It had been announced that the Minister had resigned during last week’s militia clashes and demonstrations.‎
