A Planning Workshop on Water Resources Management, organised by GIZ Libya in Tunisia, has ‘‘successfully concluded’’, GIZ reported today.
The workshop comes as part of the Sustainable Transition, Energy and Environmental Partnership (STEP) project.
GIZ reported that the workshop gathered representatives from the Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Environment, General Desalination Company of Libya, General Company for Water and Sanitation, Man-Made River Implementation and Management Authority.
Together, they collaboratively worked to develop a work plan for the upcoming support measures. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation, sharing best practices, and identifying sustainable solutions to ensure water security for future generations.
STEP project funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is supporting Libya in transitioning towards sustainable water resource management. This will include technical assistance and capacity building to strengthen institutional frameworks and improve resource management strategies.
