The Attorney General’s Office reported today that Misrata Criminal Court has convicted four Passports Department officers in Misrata for their involvement in forging official documents and counterfeiting the seals of government agencies and private legal entities for the purpose of illicit profit.
Misrata Criminal Court sentenced the first and second defendants to four years and one month in prison with hard labour. The third and fourth defendants were sentenced to three years and one month in prison with hard labour.
They were also deprived of their civil rights for the duration of their sentences and for one year following their execution and were ordered to pay the court costs.
