The Libyan European Transport Forum (19 to 20 September) opened in Tunis yesterday. Both the Libyan Airports Authority and the Ports and Maritime Transport Authority participated. The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and the General Union of the Libyan Chambers of Commerce, with the participation of many international organizations and institutions in the field of air, sea and land transport.
The Airports Authority was represented by the Director of the Standards Conformity Department and the Director of the Equipment and Equipment Department.
The event, the Airports Authority reported, witnessed the presence of a large number of officials and experts in the fields of aviation and airports, where important topics related to the development of airport infrastructure and the enhancement of safety and quality standards were addressed.
Aviation cooperation important
The participants expressed the importance of cooperation between European countries and Libya in the field of aviation, stressing the need to exchange experiences and modern technologies to improve the services provided at Libyan airports.
This participation, Airports Authority reported, comes within the framework of its efforts to strengthen international relations and develop the necessary strategies to advance the aviation sector in the country.
The Ports and Maritime Transport Authority
Meanwhile, the Ports and Maritime Transport Authority reported that companies from the European Union and Libya, as well as experts in the transport sector are also participating to develop and expand partnerships and cooperation on issues related to the vital transport sector to keep pace with global requirements and rapid developments.
it reported that the forum will address several topics focusing on presenting various issues, challenges and integrated solutions, in addition to presenting targeted projects. The forum aims to achieve the strategy of the Libyan state and present its vision regarding development in the fields of air transport, civil aviation, airports, maritime transport, ports, roads and bridges, discuss the establishment and rehabilitation of infrastructure in the transport sector, and provide opportunities for investment expansion and international support for a safe and sustainable development renaissance in the transport sector.
The Ports and Maritime Transport Authority said its delegation is responsible for introducing the Department of Ports and Maritime Transport and its affiliated ports. This will come through a presentation of the most important existing projects and targeted projects to raise the level of performance of commercial ports. It will also provide an opportunity for the private and public sectors, local and foreign, to engage in investment in the field of establishing, developing and rehabilitating commercial ports in accordance with the legislation in force in this regard.
