A workshop on ‘‘Regulating the Legal and Banking Framework’’ in Libya started yesterday in Tripoli (14 – 16 May) with the participation of the private sector and international financial institutions.
A group of ministers, officials in public authorities, and several businessmen, industrialists and private companies participated in the opening of the workshop – which was organized by the of Libyan Industry Union (LIU) in cooperation with the Central Bank of Libya and the Ministry of Finance.
Representatives from regional and international financial institutions such as the IFC also participated virtually in its opening. Organisers said Libya’s legal and banking framework will be discussed with the aim of reaching recommendations that contribute to creating an environment for doing business and advancing the industrial sector.
The workshop also seeks to facilitate businessmen’s access to financing to establish industrial projects that contribute to supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development.
