More than 300 Libyan and international companies are participating in the 50th Tripoli International Fair. The fair (15 to 21 May) was opened to a grand show and pyrotechnics display yesterday centred around the historical entrance to the Tripoli International Fairgrounds by Mohamed Hwej, the Minister of Economy and Trade.
International participation includes companies or pavilions from Egypt, Tunisia, Italy, Turkey, Algeria, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and Iran in various fields.
In his opening speech, the Economy Minister pointed out the importance of organizing this exhibition because it has a major role in supporting and developing the national economy and creating a real opportunity for local and foreign sector partnerships. The Minister, accompanied by the ministers, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions to Libya, and a group of business owners, also toured the exhibition pavilions of the Fair.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, bilateral meeting sessions will be held between Libyan companies and foreign companies in the sectors of trade, industry, agriculture and food security to enhance economic and commercial cooperation and exchange experiences.
The grand opening was conducted in the presence of the Ministers of Finance, Industry and Minerals, Tourism, and the Environment, the Undersecretaries of the Ministry, the Chairman of the General Authority for Exhibitions, the Director General of the Tripoli International Fair, and a number of heads of the Board of Directors and Authorities affiliated with the Ministry, heads of chambers of commerce, a number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions to Libya, and a group of business owners, companies and participants in the exhibition.
