Germany’s GIZ (Libya) announced yesterday that 16 talented Libyan medical doctors recently completed a Master Training Programme. Through this initiative, GIZ Libya in partnership with the UK-based organisation Primary Care International, enhanced the Libyan doctors´ facilitation skills. The goal of this training, kt explained, is to improve the quality of in-service training for primary healthcare professionals.
GIZ said the Ministry of Health’s Primary Health Care Institute of Libya (PHCI), initiated the Master Training Programme and highlighted that this transformative training is vital to elevate the quality of services provided at Primary Health Care Centres.
A PHCI-officer further stated that “We need to embrace modern teaching techniques because this will motivate our doctors and nurses to take advantage of continuous professional development to enhance their clinical skills.”
Mohamed Suweed from the Libyan Foreign Ministry visited the training and encouraged the doctors to train healthcare professionals working in Libya’s remote areas.
This project is supported by the ‘Improving Primary Health Care Provision in Libya’ project implemented by GIZ in cooperation with the Libyan Health Ministry and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
