The Attorney General’s Office reported last Tuesday (21 May) that the head of the Financial Department at the Centre for Educational Curricula and Educational Research has been detained.
The Public Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Prosecution within the jurisdiction of the Tripoli Court of Appeal found evidence of corruption in the procedures for the supply of the computer course for the basic education stage and the first year of secondary education.
The investigator also inferred the tendency of the accused, and other officials in the centre, to receive bribes amounting to LD 675,000, in exchange for the payment of the price of a contract for printing systematic books that the execution tool did not commit to supplying.
The investigator hence ordered the detention of the accused, and directed the judicial police to prosecute former managers, and the accreditation officer at the centre.
