The Attorney General’s Office reported yesterday that the Public Prosecution ordered the detention of the Aman Bank for Trade and Investment branch manager in Ajdabiya.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecution, within the jurisdiction of the Benghazi Court of Appeal, investigated information related to financial gains obtained because of the branch manager withdrawing an amount estimated at LD 1,063,500 from the branch treasury.
The branch manager handed this amount over to a person not connected to the bank’s operations for the purpose of trading the equivalent value in foreign currency.
The investigation revealed evidence of harm, which prompted the investigator to detain the branch manager and the unlawful recipient of the sum.
