Libyan Railroads announced Thursday that its chairman, Saeed Salem Al-Kilani, had signed on the same day in Benghazi a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of Investment in the eastern based Libyan government, Ali Al-Saidi, and the chairman of the Chinese BFI Consortium, Saleh Attia.
The MoU entails the implementation of the railway lines extending from the city of Benghazi to the border municipality of Musaed and the Egyptian city of Marsa Matrouh. It was agreed to launch work effectively and directly on these tracks as soon as the designs approved by Libyan Railroads are received.
Libyan Railroads said the MoU is a qualitative step towards activating work to achieve its goals.
