General Union of Chambers holds virtual forum with Belgian business entities

The Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce held a virtual economic forum with the Belgian business entities to discuss opportunities to enhance economic relations on Saturday.

The event included the Libyan Ambassador to Belgium, Amel Al -Jerari, the President of the Libyan General Union of Chambers, Mohamed Al Raied, the Secretary -General of the Belgian Luxembourgish Arab Chamber of Commerce, Qaysar Al -Hijazi, and several officials and business leaders from the two countries.

Speaking exclusively to Libya, Herald, the President of the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Al-Raied, said, “Within the endeavours to open the doors of cooperation between Libya and the European Union countries from time to time, communication with one of those countries that have a strong economy and wide experience in the field of investment, trade and industry to benefit from their experiences, and the transfer of its advanced technology to Libya and the training of national cadres to work on’’.

The two sides to take concrete steps
He added the Libyan and Belgian parties agreed to take concrete steps to restore relations, enhance cooperation and raise the rates of trade exchange, and establish investments and partnerships in the field of oil, infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, desalination, development, and technical manpower.

The General Union ready to fully cooperate
Al-Raied affirmed the General Union of Chambers of Commerce’s readiness to provide all facilities to deepen the areas of cooperation, calling on Belgian businessmen to visit Libya to determine the existing investment opportunities, especially with the availability of all the necessary resources to establish any kind of industrial, agricultural, tourist or service investments while benefiting from the advantages granted by the Libyan investment law and the exemptions enjoyed by the foreign investor.
