TotalEnergies Libya reported today that it has completed the construction of seven 5-a-side football pitches in the framework of its social and sustainability programme in the Waha region.

The project was implemented in cooperation with the National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) Sustainable Development Department.

During the celebration of the handover signing ceremony TotalEnergies handed over the seven 5-a-side-pitches to the Gulf of Sidra Municipality.

TotalEnergies says it puts sustainability in all its dimensions at the centre of its strategy and has been accompanying Libya for decades in programmes directly benefiting the Libyan people – promoting well-being and youth inclusion.

This project, it states, is a first of this kind in the Waha region, and represents a step forward in terms of collaboration and facilitation between the parties to engage and develop social programmes with local communities surrounding TotalEnergies’ operations.
