A Maltese court ordered yesterday the return of €96 million held in the name of Mutasim Qaddafi-controlled company in the Bank of Valletta to be returned to the Libyan state.
The court agreed that this money was obtained illicitly and that it did not belong to Mutasim personally but was the Libyan state’s money, Libya’s Attorney General confirmed.
The long court proceedings have been ongoing since 2012.
