London, 27 December 2021:

Official spokesperson for the House of Representatives (HoR), Abdalla Belheeg, said that the HoR will discuss in its official session in Tobruk today the electoral process and ways to support it to meet this national entitlement.

It will also discuss the report of the HoR Election Committee regarding the electoral process and the obstacles it faced, and the High National Election Commission’s (HNEC) report on the elections and a number of parties related to the elections and other work.

It will be recalled that Libya’s planned 24 December elections failed to take place due to HNEC failing to announce the final vetted list of candidates and due to a poor election law.
