HNEC meets HoR elections committee to discuss difficulties and obstacles facing presidential election process

Tripoli, 12 December 2021:

A meeting between the HNEC and the House of Representatives Committee to follow up on the developments of the presidential elections

The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) head, Emad Sayeh, discussed yesterday ‘‘the latest developments in the electoral process for electing the head of state, and the difficulties and obstacles facing this process.’’

During the meeting at HNEC’s Tripoli headquarters with Hadi Al-Saghayer, the head of the HoR committee and committee member, Saleh Afhima, the electoral appeals file and appeals decisions and judgments were reviewed. Ways to enhance the principle of credibility in applying and implementing the text of the electoral law were also discussed.

It should be noted that this committee was formed from members of The House of Representatives Elections Committee was formed as a temporary committee to follow up on the electoral process with HNEC and the Supreme Judicial Council and monitor the difficulties and obstacles encountered in the electoral process.
