Tripoli, 3 November 2021:

The Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL) held talks with the French Total Energy Company yesterday to implement several projects to generate electric power using renewable energy technologies, REAoL reported.

REAoL said this comes within the framework and in implementation of what has been previously announced by the Prime Minister Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba.

REAoL head, Hamid Sherwali, met with a number of his officials the supervisor of the renewable energies programme at the Total Energy, where they discussed the proposed locations for projects and the technical reports prepared by REAoL, which come within the investment project that will include the implementation of solar plants with a total capacity of 500 megawatts.

The studies related to the process of linking these projects to the general electricity network were also discussed, and a number of related matters were discussed, which would help in accelerating the process of starting their implementation.

It was agreed to continue these meetings sequentially to overcome any difficulties and complete the steps to start implementation.
