London, 28 September 2021:
A memorandum of understanding entitled “One Hundred Projects for a Hundred Cities” was signed in the Italian city of Syracuse on Sunday between the National Association of Italian Municipalities (Associazione Nazionale dei Comuni Italiani – ANCI) and the Association of Libyan Emerging Municipalities, which represents 86 Libyan cities. It will be expanded to include 126 Libyan municipalities.
The MoU is to develop twinning and practical measures in the region between the Italian and Libyan municipalities.
It will focus on projects related to renewable energy and energy supplies, water, waste recycling, cultural and archaeological heritage – all deemed a precondition for stability and peace in Libya.
