The Ambassador referred to the arrival of an economic delegation comprising several businessmen to Libya during the next few days, and disclosed that arrangements are being made in his country for the visit of a large high-level economic delegation to Libya at a later time.

SMEs and diversification

For his part, the head of the Tripoli Chamber indicated that the urgent need at the present time, which would consolidate economic relations between the two countries, is cooperation in the field of small and medium industries, and the extent to which Spain and Spanish companies that manufacture machines and small factories contribute can to this urgent strategic endeavour for Libya to diversify its sources of income.

It was also agreed to build bridges of communication through the embassy between the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Madrid and Barcelona to conclude cooperation agreements that serve businesses in both countries and allow them to cooperate.

The Tripoli Chamber also highlighted the importance and necessity of the affiliation of Spanish companies and their branches operating in Libya to the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce in order to receive the necessary support and assistance to facilitate their administrative procedures in the relevant Libyan institutions.
