Libya discussed with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) progress on lifting the EU flight ban.
The discussions took place yesterday between the Deputy Minister of Transport for Aviation and Air Transport Affairs Khaled Swesi at the headquarters of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority in Tripoli.
The Ministry of Transport reported that the meeting was with the ICAO Global Programme Committee for Aviation Safety Oversight Audit which discussed a summary of the Committee’s work and the results of communicating with the European Union Safety Committee.
It reported that the meeting emphasised the use of experts in the field of safety and aviation and the preparation of technical cadres in the field of inspection to develop a training programme for qualification and raising competencies.
Coordination with the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to urge European countries to help in lifting the flight ban on Libyan air carriers into EU airspace.
