A Korean government delegation visited GECOL to assess readiness for company return of their companies (GECOL).

London, 25 June 2021:

A delegation from the Korean government visited the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) on Wednesday, GECOL reported yesterday.

The delegation visited the site of the Tripoli West Steam Station project to see the inspection work carried out by the technical teams and to assess the appropriate conditions for work to give urgent approval to Korean companies, including Hyundai, to resume their activities, GECOL said.

During the visit, the project materials storage warehouse in Jawdaim was reviewed and where it was explained to the Korean delegation the status of the project, the good storage method for project materials, and the stable appropriate conditions in the region and the country.

It was also stressed the need for Korean companies to return without any restrictions and urgently resume work to complete this strategic project, which will support the electricity network with a total capacity of 1,400 megawatts.
