Over 170 Tunisian entities and 1,200 participants arrive in Tripoli for the Libyan Tunisian Economic Forum

Over 170 Tunisian entities from diverse sectors and over 1,200 Tunisian participants arrived in Tripoli yesterday to take part in the Libyan Tunisian Economic Forum: Towards Linking with Africa’.

The event, opening today, will continue until 25 May and is being held at the Tripoli International Fairgrounds.

It is co-organized by the Tunisian African Business Council (TABC), in partnership with the Sebha Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Libyan General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture and the Libyan Export Promotion Centre.

Organizers hope Tunisia and Libya could become the gateway for international companies into the sub-Saharan African market.

Trade between Tunisia and Libya has decreased to less than one billion dinars (US$ 220 million) from about 3.5 billion dinars (US$ 780 million) before 2010.
