London, 29 December 2021:
The Minister of Economy and Trade issued its Decision No. 935 of 2021 last Thursday 23 December regarding the electronic issuance of negative certificates for trade names, starting from the beginning of the new year, through the new commercial registration system, which is part of the ministry’s unified electronic service platform.
The decision requires all local commercial registry offices to hand over lists of trade names that they previously issued to the Economic Information and Documentation Centre to be included in the unified database of trade names no later than December 28, 2021.
The Ministry says the new decision comes as a step within the framework of reducing centralization, as the issuance of trade names is now taking place in all local commercial registry offices, after it was central and required the approval of the General Commercial Registry Office.
