Libya will reciprocate to countries that close their markets to Libyan exports that comply with health requirements and approved standard specifications obtained from the certificate of origin.
The revelation was made by its Economy Minister Mohamed Hwej yesterday during his meeting with companies and factories in Benghazi.
The meeting at the Ministry’s Benghazi headquarters included the Chairman of the Privatization and Investment Board (PIB), and the Libyan Export Promotion Centre (LEPC).
It discussed the problems and obstacles facing companies in the production process and ways to localize industries. It also discussed the progress of the production process, raising the quality of local industry, and ways to create export opportunities and compete in global markets.
The Minister praised the efforts of the companies and factories in continuing the production process amid exceptional circumstances. He stressed that the ministry will work to provide opportunities for participation in foreign exhibitions for the benefit of local companies and factories that have high quality products, facilitate export procedures and create global markets through the LEPC and the relevant authorities.
He noted that the ministry is working on organizing international exhibitions in Benghazi in the coming months.
The Minister of Economy also called on the owners of companies and factories to coordinate with the chambers of commerce.
