Signing a cooperation agreement with the Algerian company Sonelgaz
The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced today that it had concluded with the Algerian Sonelgaz Company on Sunday 27 December in Algeria a cooperation agreement between the two companies.
The agreement covers the field of production, transportation, distribution and gas.
The agreement was signed in Algiers by GECOL Chairman, Wiam Abdali, and the General Manager of Sonelgaz, Chaher Boulakhras.
GECOL said the cooperation falls within the framework of the continuation of the exchanges that took place between the two companies’ teams after the intervention of the Sonelgaz technical team last October in order to repair and restart the Khoms power station.
Sonelgaz General Manager confirmed that this new agreement came on the heels of the one previously concluded between the two companies in the field of production, highlighting that this partnership has been expanded to include transportation and distribution of electricity and gas, as well as renewable energies and training.
