The body of a young man showing the hallmarks of having been executed is reported to have been found in Nufliya.
It is also claimed that fighters from the so-called Islamic State (IS) kidnapped a man and his two sons two days ago in the town, but the father managed to escape. The body is believed to be one of the sons. The fate of the other is unknown.
At various points in 2015 and 2016 Nufliya was held by IS. However, in late May 2016 they were pushed out by the Bunyan Marsous operations room.
Meanwhile, the Mujahideen Shura Council in Derna (DMSC) has announced it arrested a member of IS in the town yesterday. The 27-year-old man is said to have joined IS in late 2014 before fleeing to Sirte as the DMSC retook Derna.
The man has been named as Mahmoud Mohamed Al-Sewaini. As Sirte began to fall to Bunyan Marsous last year, it is claimed Al-Sewaini smuggled himself back to Derna dressed as a woman wearing a niqab.
Another local member of IS was killed three days ago after he attempted to kill a member of the DMSC.
