Benghazi, 22 July 2017:

A group of Benghazi residents injured during the three years of fighting in the city descended on Kish Square yesterday to protest at their lack of treatment and what they claimed was a lack of interest in their plight. They were a mix of former fighters and civilians.

Many had been seriously injured. Some had had their legs amputated while others were in wheelchairs clutching placards detailing their demands and expressing their anger. A few were reported to be carrying weapons.

They complained their treatment had been stopped and that no one cared about their fate. Some called on the authorities to provide them with artificial limbs. Other said they still had ongoing heath problems.
