Tunis, 11 May 2017:
The African Union’s special envoy to Libya, Jakaya Kikwete, has followed his Tripoli visit by flying east for talks with House of Representatives (HoR) President Ageela Saleh. He was met at Labraq airport by the interim government’s foreign minister Mohamed Dayri before heading off to see Saleh at his home in Guba.
Little was revealed about the talks between the two other than the trip came about as part of AU efforts to unite the various factions in Libya and to support the UN-sponsored Libya Dialogue.
It has been a busy week for key AU figures with its head, Guinea President Alpha Condé, meeting with Prince Idris Al-Senussi.
Last week former General National Congress president Nuri Abu Sahmain and th Khalifa Ghwell were in Conakry to see Condé.
