Plans to establish a university in Jufra have taken a step forward with a meeting in Tripoli today between the education ministry and heads of colleges in the district. Today’s meeting focussed on the difficulties in setting up the university which would incorporate a number of tertiary level colleges in the district.

In addition to the College of Engineering Technology in Hun, there are four faculties of Sirte University in Jufra: the faculties of arts and sciences and of medical technology in Hun and the faculties of education and of business administration in Waddan.

Since the revolution, a number of new universities have been created or announced – Ajdabiya, Fezzan, Sabratha and Tobruk.
