Tripoli, 4 January 2017:
The head of the Dar Al-Ifta, Sheikh Sadek Al-Ghariani has said that Faiez Serraj’s Presidency Council and armed forces commander-in-chief Khalifa Hafter are two sides of the same coin, responsible for corruption and the division of Libya.
He added that the idea of Hafter playing any future role in Libya was “unbelievable”. Ghariani used on his Tanasah TV station the repeat his condemnation of the Libyan Political Agreement and demanded a Libyan solution to the country’s divisions. He repeated his view that the PC was imposed by foreign powers and had no legitimacy.
The sheikh also weighed into the Libyan Central Bank asking why it could not find money for salaries but instead spent its money “illegally”.
