Tripoli, 9 September 2016:
Cabin crew on a Buraq Air flight from Tripoli to Niamey on Tuesday were confronted with the unusual task of having to deliver a baby when its mother went into premature labour. But they did so without a hitch.
Mother and baby boy, who has been named Abdulbaset, after the captain of the flight, were both in good health, according to the airline.
“The flight was heading from Tripoli to Niamey was operated by Ghadames Airlines crew whom we thank very much for their good work,” a Baraq statement said.
To celebrate the event, the carrier has announced that baby Abdulbaset will be given free airline tickets for the rest of his life.
