Tripoli, 18 July 2016:
UNSMIL chief Martin Kobler is behaving as if he were governor of Libya and the Libya Dialogue was meaningless, according to a group from the House of Representatives.
The 71-strong self-styled National Sovereignty Bloc said yesterday that the committee that the HoR had assigned to be part of the Dialogue, had been dissolved earlier this year. By refusing to accept this and by still dealing with it and its leader, HoR vice-president Emhemed Shoaib, Kobler was ignoring the will of parliament.
Besides accusing Kobler of being Libya’s real governor and running the country “according to his whims”, the NSB also laid into the State Council which it described as a corrupt organisation designed to placate those who had been defeated in the 2014 election.
It was also highly critical of the Presidency Council accusing it of bribing politicians by giving jobs to them or their relatives.
