21 June 2016:
Turkey’s consul-general in Misrata, Şenol Sevim, yesterday met the city’s mayor, Mohamed Eshtewi, and members of the municipal council to discuss humanitarian and medical needs.
The meeting was a follow-up to a phone conversation on Friday between Eshtewi and the Turkish special envoy to Libya, Emrullah Işler.
The transfer of wounded from the fighting in Sirte to Turkey for treatment was one of the main subjects as well as aid for people displaced from Sirte and neighbouring areas.
A number of wounded have been sent to Turkey, according to Turkish officials, and they are currently working on further requests.
