Tripoli, 25 April 2016:
The Foreign Ministry in Tripoli was formally handed over to the Presidency Council this morning. . . .[restrict]It follows the handovers of the planning, endowments and a number of other ministries.
The Foreign Ministry, a stone’s throw from the Bu Setta naval base being used as the Presidency headquarters, was already effectively in the hands of Mohamed Siala, the appointed as the Government of National Accord’s foreign minister.
Staff at the ministry were among the first to declare their support for the Presidency Council. When it arrived in Tripoli last month, a number of them physically attacked Ali Abuzakuk, the man who served as foreign minister for the now defunct Congress regime. He was reported to have fled as a result. [/restrict]
