Libyan terror suspects nabbed in Genoa

Tunis, 5 January 2016:

Italian police say that on Sunday they arrested three Libyans terror suspects who had arrived in Genoa on a ferry from Tunis.

Each man was understood to be driving an identical Hyundai vehicle and none had any luggage. The suspects, aged 50,43 and 39 have not been identified. They are being investigated in connection with money laundering linked to international terrorism.

It is being alleged  that investigators found pictures of weapons and guerrilla warfare on their mobile phones.

It is likely that the men arrived in Genoa onboard that Italian-flagged ro-ro passenger vessel  Excellent, which runs regularly between the Italian port and Tunis, each voyage taking 24 hours. [/restrict]
