Tunis, 29 October 2015:
Mystery still surrounds the second apparent airstrike this month on IS terrorist positions in Sirte.
Reuters reported . . .[restrict]a local source as saying that warplanes had struck shortly after midnight. A social media photograph that appears to have been taken around dawn today, shows a large pall of smoke rising from an unidentifiable position in the distance.
Communications with the town have become much more difficult since the IS took control of the mobile phone masts.
The terrorists have rarely been slow in coming forward with news about assaults on their territory. In the last 48 hours however IS media have been taken up with eulogising a slain fighter Mansur al Shalali (aka “Harun”) .
Meanwhile neither the Libyan Airforce nor Libya Dawn militias has produced any claims for this early morning raid. The inevitable speculation will be that the warplanes were not Libyan. [/restrict]
