Tripoli, 18 August 2015:
A senior executive at Sebha-based Fezzan TV is reported to have been kidnapped in the . . .[restrict]latest assault on the television station.
Ahmed Imsalm was seized today in Sebha and has not been heard of since. Fezzan TV, a private channel, says that it has always sought to avoid becoming involved in the tribal tensions in the region and focus on impartial news-gathering and promoting the region’s culture and folklore.
This is not the first time that its staff have come under attack. In January 2014 three of its reporters were seized, allegedly by pro-Qaddafi forces. Zeidan Al-Mahdi, Adel Al-Sharif, and Abdullah Abu Athba were grabbed as they were on their way to Tamanhint airport and held for a day at the airbase, before being released. They alleged that they had been beaten by their kidnappers.
It was not possible to contact Fezzan TV this evening. [/restrict]
