Tripoli, 21 August 2015:
The Fezzan TV executive kidnapped in Sebha three days ago is reported to have been released . . .[restrict]today, apparently unharmed.
No details have been given of the freeing of Ahmed Imsalm, not even by his TV station.
Kidnappings, generally for ransom, have become more frequent in Sebha in recent months as the town descended into lawlessness.
It remains possible however that Imsalm was seized for political reasons. Early last year three of the station’s reporters were grabbed on their way to Tamanhint airbase, where they were apparently held for a day, beaten up and then released.
